ABOUT
Jefferson Lab has established the Biomedical Research & Innovation Center as a central hub for state of the art research and technology development in medical-related fields including novel treatments, medical imaging, detection, and radiation therapy. Our researchers partner with industry and healthcare organizations to identify patient needs and technology gaps. We collaborate with treatment centers, physicians, and clinical staff to develop new medical devices and systems based on our expert knowledge of particle accelerators and detectors. Several innovations from Jefferson Lab researchers are in use today for cancer treatment and diagnosis, among other applications. The Biomedical Research & Innovation Center also facilitates special events, colloquia, and workshops on various topics. A dedicated lab space on the Jefferson Lab campus is under development and is estimated to be available for use by researchers in FY 2024.
